The Wildflower Sound affiliate program

If you write about plugins, teach sound design, or just keep telling people about these tools, you can earn from it. Share your link, and when someone buys through it, you get a share of what they paid.

What you earn

You earn 20% of what a customer pays, on their first purchase through your link.

If they subscribe, you earn 20% of every monthly payment for their first year, 10% in their second year, and 5% from their third year on, for as long as they stay. Nothing you have already earned is taken back if they cancel later.

Commissions are worked out from what we were actually paid, after tax and after any discount, and in US dollars. If a customer pays in euros or yen, we convert their payment the same way we convert it for everything else, so where somebody lives does not change what you earn.

How the links work

You get a code, and your link is the plain site address with your code on the end, like this:

Anyone who opens it has your code remembered in their browser for 60 days. If they buy anything in that window, it is yours. If they click somebody else's link after yours, the more recent link wins, which is the normal way this works everywhere.

You can point the link at any page on the site. Send people to a specific plugin if that is what you wrote about.

What does not earn

A few things, and none of them are traps. They are here so the numbers on your page mean something.

• Your own purchases. Buying through your own link does not pay you. If you want a plugin, just ask me.
• Purchases that used a discount code. One or the other, not both.
• Points redemptions. No money changes hands, so there is nothing to share.
• Refunded or charged-back purchases. If a sale comes back inside 60 days, the commission comes off with it.
• Bidding on our name in ads. Please do not buy search ads on "Wildflower Sound", our plugin names, or anything close to them. That is not sending someone new, that is standing between us and someone who was already looking for us.

Telling people you earn from the link

This one is not optional, and it protects you as much as it protects me.

Whenever you post a link, say in the post itself that you earn a commission from it. In your own words is best. Any of these is fine:

• "I earn a commission if you buy through this link."
• "Affiliate link, I get a cut."
• "I'm a Wildflower Sound affiliate, so I make something if you buy."

Where it has to be:

• In the post, the video, or the description that people read before they click. Not only in your bio, not behind a "more" link, not in a pinned comment underneath.
• Near the link, close enough that nobody could see one without the other.
• In plain words, at a size people can read. A tag on its own is not enough.

In a video, say it out loud as well as putting it on screen. In a stream, say it again each time you bring it up.

If a post with a link does not carry the disclosure, I will ask you to fix it. If it keeps happening, I will close the account and pay out what is already cleared.

Honesty about the plugins

Say what you actually think. A bad review with your link in it is completely fine by me, and a review that reads like an ad helps neither of us. Do not describe anything a plugin does not do, and if you compare it against something else, make the comparison a fair one.

When you get paid

• Commissions clear 30 days after the purchase, once the refund window has passed.
• Cleared balances are paid once a month, by PayPal.
• There is a $25 minimum. Under that, the balance stays on your account and carries over to the next month. It is yours and it is never lost.
• You can ask to be paid out in full at any point if you are stepping away.
• We cover the transfer fee.

Fraud, and our right to hold a payment

If a commission looks like it came from self-purchasing, from a stolen card, from traffic bought against our own name, or from anything dishonest, we can hold it while we look into it, and refuse it if we find what we expected. We will tell you why, in plain words, and you can tell us we have it wrong. Nothing cleared and honest is ever held.

How to apply

Tax

You are paid as an independent contractor, not an employee, and what you earn is your own income to report.

If you are in the US and we pay you $2,000 or more in a calendar year, we will need your details on a W-9 and will send you a 1099 form. That threshold rose from $600 for the 2026 tax year and is adjusted for inflation after that, so we will always tell you the current figure rather than making you remember it.

If you are outside the US, we may need a tax form from you before your first payout. We will say which one and why.

Nothing here is tax advice. If your situation is complicated, ask someone who does this for a living.

Changes

If the rates or the rules change, anything you have already earned stays at the terms it was earned under. Changes apply to what comes after.
